Road traffic
The road traffic statistics provide estimates of the vehicle miles travelled each year in England, Scotland and Wales by vehicle type, road category and region. The Department for Transport (DfT) owns this data and publishes quarterly and annual estimates.
The DfT also has a geographical website with estimated traffic flows on every link of the ‘A’ road and motorway network in Great Britain. The interactive map provides a mapped background to identify traffic flows in specific areas of the country.
